Tribute to my Grandpa S.

Last night my Grandpa S. passed away. He was just three months shy of his 88th birthday. He was a great man in my eyes. He always tried to do what was right and he was always an example to the grandchildren. Especially when it came to living the gospel. He and my Grandmother went on a mission together and they where temple workers for many years. My Grandpa was also a hard worker. He raised crops and dairy cattle for most of his life. He and my Grandmother also raised a garden every year - including last year. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a tease. He loved to play checkers and do thousand piece jigsaw puzzles. I love my grandpa dearly. And although I am grateful that he is no longer suffering I will miss him terribly. Love you lots Grandpa and am looking forward to the day when I will see you again.

Painted!!!!

Yesterday, we painted one of the bedrooms in our house. As you can see the bedroom wasn't the only thing that got painted. At some point K. leaned his head against one of the walls and had a matching paint job in his hair. Thankfully the paint washed out with soap and water - so he didn't have to go to church with his new style! The room turned out fairly nice (even with all the help). I wish I'd thought to take a before and after picture - oh well!

GRADUATION!!!!!

Today was one of those mommy tear up days! K. graduated from preschool. It is hard to believe that he is on his way to kindergarten next fall. He is getting to be so grown-up. He has done a great job this year and really worked hard (as hard as preschool can get anyway!:) ). We are so proud of him!!! Congrats! K. We love you.

Alexander Graham Bell

J. class has been learning about famous people the last several weeks. Thursday his class did individual presentations on a famous person. J. did his presentation on Alexander Grahm Bell. They had dress up as their person and have a prop. Here are a couple of pictures of J. doing his presentation. Unfortunately my camera battery died after two shots so I didn't get any pictures of him with his other classmates in their costumes.

Petting Zoo

Monday morning I went with K. and his preschool class to the local petting zoo. The kids had a great time- but it is obvious that even though I was a farm girl, my son is not a farm boy. Notice the nose being plugged. Maybe we need to visit the family farm more often. LOL!

Botanical Gardens!

a week ago Saturday we took the boys to the botanical gardens a couple of hours south of where we live. We had a really good time. The boys got to do a scavengar hunt for different leaves and types of trees as we walked through there indoor garden. They also really loved to watch the turtles and the fish. It was a really fun family outing. We all decided that Grandma B. would probably like it as well - so maybe wil take her next time she comes to visit. (Hint, Hint Grandma B.!!)

K's Mother's Day Program

Today I got the opportunity to attend a special mother's day program at K's school. It was really nice. I love being a mother. It is the worlds greatest job!! K did a wonderful job and I really enjoyed watching him perform. On a side note they made little place mats for the tables. Each child helped fill out the information on their mother's place mat. I am now only 8 years old according to K. Not sure how I got to the program since I am not old enough to drive?!?!:)
