Snow Day !!!!!

" SCALING THE MOUNTAIN "

Today was suppose to be the last day of school until after Christmas break instead the kids get an extra day off. Snow started falling around nine o'clock last night and ended sometime in the wee hours of the morning. We received about ten inces of beautiful fluffy snow. At first both the boys were a bit disappointed - not because we got so much snow- but because they were both suppose to have parties at school today- after taking a really good look at the "mountains" of snow awaiting out the front door they decided that just maybe they could find something fun to do today!!:) So unless we have some sort of unprecedented warm-up in the next six days (not likely since they are already predicting the possibility of at least two more storms) we will have lots of snow for Christmas!!!

"Someone" gets blamed alot!!

Some of you may wonder why I am posting pictures of a spatula - one that looks dirty no less! Well last Sunday I was sitting in the living room visiting with a friend when all of a sudden I hear this really weird crackling noise. I decide that I had better check on K. to see what he is up too. I head towards the kitchen - where now there is this smell of burnt something. I reach the kitchen to see this spatula sitting on the counter, it is making the crackling noises, and it smells terrible. Before I can even utter one word about what is going on K. looks up at me and totally straight faced makes the following statement "Mom, "Someone" put it in the toaster (referring to the spatula)." For obvious reasons I couldn't laugh right then and there (but I did later). I hate it when "Someone" gets into trouble - he sure gets blamed for alot of things around our house. K. and I had this discussion about the dangers of putting anything besides bread in the toaster. The above pictures show the results of this little adventure - no that spatula is not dirty it is sporting it's "toasted" look. I don't even want to speculate as to what K. will think of next. Stay tuned for further adventures!!:)

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Over the weekend we were able to spend sometime decorating for Christmas. J kindly modeled for a picture with the tree. We also put up lights on our house for the first time this year. I think they turned out kind of pretty with all the snow. It was a bit of an adventure to get them up before the roof got really slick - since it started to snow before Del got finished. But he did a nice job and it gives our house a bit of an extra festive look.
